# Attaching a document type to a dataset

{% hint style="info" %}
Document types can only be attached to datasets by Administrators.
{% endhint %}

Document types can be assigned as 'Attach 'Document' questions to datasets, allowing Administrators to specify what kind of document is expected of a Researcher to upload in order for them to access that data.

### How to attach a document type to a dataset

1. Select 'Admin tools' from your username dropdown.
